Which parent does not hope for their son to become a dragon or their daughter a phoenix? Many modern parents adopt a cramming-style approach to education, believing that as long as their child achieves excellent results at school year after year and ranks first every time, being “number one” and “standing above the rest” is something to take pride in. They happily boast everywhere about how outstanding and intelligent their child is, unaware that learning has no end and there is always a higher mountain beyond the next.
In my view, while school examination results are certainly important, a child’s attitude toward learning must not be overlooked. How can you enable your child to learn in a relaxed and enjoyable environment, enrich themselves, study diligently, and unlock the treasure house of wisdom? By doing so, excellent results will naturally follow year after year.
After many years of careful research, the author has developed a “Wenchang Method” that can help children learn proactively, with ease and enjoyment, and consistently achieve outstanding academic results.

Following this principle, the Flying Stars rotate in a nine-year cycle, occupying the same positions again
Each year, where the Wen Chang Star arrives, we may enhance this area accordingly. For example, in 2017 the Wen Chang Star is located in the Northeast. In this position, place four stalks of lucky bamboo (Guan Yin bamboo, preferably with deep green leaves) grown in water inside a glass vase. As the lucky bamboo grows day by day, the children’s academic performance will likewise continue to improve.Important Notes:
- The upward growth of bamboo segments symbolizes steady progress, continuous improvement, and successive success. Bamboo grown in water does not easily produce stray leaves on the sides, whereas bamboo grown in soil is more likely to develop extra branches and leaves. For this reason, the ancients described soil-grown bamboo as “producing branches beyond the joints,” symbolizing unnecessary distractions or complications.
- Lucky bamboo grown in water should have its water changed daily. This not only helps keep the leaves lush and green, symbolizing excellent academic performance for children, but also prevents the breeding of mosquitoes.
